體壇英語資訊:Yeovil prepare to take on mighty Man United in FA Cup fourth round

LONDON, Jan. 8 -- They linger fourth from bottom in the lowest league in English Football.

Yet in a dream draw Monday night, Yeovil Town Football Club will take on mighty Manchester United in the fourth round of the FA Cup, the world's oldest football tournament.

Rather than being scared of hosting one of the biggest clubs in the world to their modest ground in the cider-apple growing county of Somerset, Yeovil manager Darren Way couldn't be more excited.

"I don't think I could pick anyone better to go up against in the world we live in at the moment. It was an extraordinary achievement to get to the fourth round and to get Manchester United is a special moment for the club," Way said.

"I want everyone to enjoy it and embrace the fantastic challenge. The players and supporters deserve it. It's going to be a magical day. I'll be making sure the players remain focused before then as it's only in their best interests," he added.

The dream draw came after Yeovil knocked out League One side Bradford City 2-0 last weekend to earn their place in the next round. They are the lowest-ranked team in the contest.

Known as the Glovers, a name given as Yeovil was once a famous glove-making town, the club's modest Huish Park is a million kilometers from the scale and luxury of Manchester United's Old Trafford Stadium, with its seating capacity of almost 76,000.

Just a few months ago, Yeovil FC was moaning that one of its league two games attracted less than 2,500 fans to their 5,000 seater stadium with room for another 5,000 standing.

Founded in 1895, it would be 108 years before Yeovil Town finally entered the football league.

Cup glory is nothing new to the small team in southern England. In 1949, they beat Sunderland 2-1 in a fourth round FA cup clash, heading to Manchester City in the next round for an 8-0 thrashing.

Yeovil Town will host Jose Mourinho's Premier League side in the fourth round during the weekend commencing January 26th.

Almost 350 kilometers from Yeovil, Manchester United posted a message on its social media site saying they are "happy with that FA Cup draw."
